Hoppiness is a warm pun.

Not a great pun, however. ANYWAYS guys, this is a soon to be hop garden! I wanted to update you on the exciting news. I can’t really take THAT much credit, because actually my dad has done all the work. But, the little guys are in the earth and I hope to post regular photos of their progress. So, keep your eyes and ears out for my Berkshire-Grown Hopsicles. Then I’m gonna boil them up and drink them, circa Evil Witch style.

Speaking of growing things for beer, did you hear that the beer to be served at Birreria is going to be flavored with thyme grown on the hillsides of Rome? So, now I think I need to grow some kind of additional, local goody, to go in one of my brews. BUT ALL I CAN THINK OF THAT GROWS IN THE BERKSHIRES ARE RAMPS AND FIDDLEHEADS. Something tells me that won’t be good in a beer. QUICK, what do you think I should grow/forage to put in my summer brewskies?

This little shop is located on North Street, in Pittsfield Massachusetts. Bet you didn’t know Pittsfield is the Brooklyn of the Berkshires. While in the neighborhood, I recommend listening to some music and drinking a Blue Velvet (half dark beer + half PBR = Awesome) at Mission Bar. If you’re lucky, the highly anticipated Wandering Star Brewery might be open. If you can’t make it to the Be(e)rkshires, check their facebook page for pourings around the City.
