Do you see that? That big foamy head? CARBONATION!
I am so happy to say, that I have finally made a successful homebrew. The first one was missing body and a bit flat. The second….so flat, so much sediment, so much yuck. I guess 3 is the charm. I really can’t tell you how excited and happy this made me. Adding to the excitement is the fact that it tastes damn good. Nice, smooth, chocolaty porter. I think a tasting party might be in order.
I think this sounds fab! Click on photo for link.

Bacon (and now, nut?) infused cocktails are just so trendy now. Or, any kind of meat infusion really. So I was wondering the other night…what would a meat beer be like? Has anyone ever tried to attempt to make such a thing? Would a chocolate bacon porter be the worst…or the best…thing in the world? A chorizo lager? A rosemary chicken pilsner?
Nuts would provide a much easier infusion…who could say no to a Nutella Stout?
I made these! They are chocolate banana muffins with peanut butter chips. You are probably wondering why they are on my beer blog. Well, I made them using the spent grain from my porter homebrew! Yep that’s right, there’s beer grain in these little guys. And they taste pretty good if I do say so, like a little angel flew into your mouth and farted deliciousness all over your tongue. I did a variation of this recipe. Essentially, took this but grated my own chocolate, added brown sugar and spent grain. And voila!

Yes, another awesome homebrew tour. If you are interested in the Orange-Cardamom-Chocolate stout recipe (or others) you can check out Jason’s website.
