Yes, we are all waiting for the thaw. Somewhat impatiently. But until the warmer days are upon us, here are a few reasons to stay inside:
- TONIGHT (2/24) is the Joy of Cheese: Right White and Beer Comparison series, taking place at Culture Fix in the LES. A variety of cheeses from Western Europe and the US will be paired with beers for this tasting event. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased here.
- Roll into your weekend with Cask Attack at Rattle n Hum (2/25-2/27). The event will feature 15-20 cask ales, all of which will be unfiltered, unpasteurized, and naturally fermented. Each glass will run you $5-$8, with pours from the US, England, and Germany.
- This Saturday (2/26), Brooklyn’s 3rd Ward is hosting the a Sideluck Potshow. Starting at 7:30 pm, this event will feature Chili and Beers and a mysterious (and promisingly entertaining) slide show for a reasonable $10 door charge. Tickets can be purchased here.
- Get out of the bars and engage in some voyeurism of Brooklyn apartments during the next Homebrew Tour. Starting in Redhook and ending in Williamsburg, this event will be sure to make your liver smile southside-to-northside. Tickets can be purchased here for $25 (a steal for a full day of drinking). Don’t drag your feet on this one, because tickets sell out fast!
- Rounding out the month-long stretch is Edible Brookyn’s ‘The Truck Stops Here’ at the Brooklyn Brewery (3/25). Featuring the food trucks of Mexicue, Rickshaw Dumplings, Jen n Outlaws, Souvlaki GR, and Van Leeuwens, $40 gets you everything that the UES is missing out on. Each of the 5 truckalicious dishes will be paired with a different BK beer. Tickets can be purchased here.
